Hello everyone let’s talk credit!!

Are you aware of the cost of credit? People would say it is free, what do you think? Credit at times plays a major part in possibly securing a job, housing, loan approval, credit availability including interest rates, and so much more!

Today, we will be looking into some aspects of some ways on how your credit is scored. Various criteria are used to calculate your credit score. This may include types of credit, new credit, or credit history (length) to name a few. It is said that the two most important criteria include whether or not your bills are paid on time and your overall outstanding balances as well as how much credit you have available.

It is imperative that you pay all your bills on time, etc. Please note that there are no quick fixes. If you are serious about establishing great credit, then managing your credit with a few steps could help to get you there and going places over time. A great rule of thumb is to set up auto or bill payment in order to avoid missing any payments or being late. Also, try not to use more than 30% of your credit limit. Please! Please! Please! Avoid maxing your credit limit and as much as possible, pay your full balance or at least more than the minimum payment due on/before your due date.

If obtaining credit is very difficult, you could start off by applying for secured credit. This is when you put up your own capital as collateral to obtain credit. I will explain how this works at a later date if you are still not sure how. Applying for store or possibly gas credit cards are also other options. Be aware, however, that these cards most times carry higher interest rates than major credit cards. As a heads-up, for you to know what others may be seeing when they look at your credit report, check your credit report regularly. Please bear in mind that you can request a free credit report, not including your score, annually from each consumer credit reporting agency by law.

Feel free to check your credit with these credit reporting agencies below:
